4/29/71 H2H..8/6/71/is second best Photobucket

and April is a pretty good month

hard to say "the best" but the El Paso from 4/17/72 is most excellent Photobucket

I think you just proved the point that there can never be a definitive version of a song. My vote for HTH goes to 8-6-71 and 2nd place is in the Bronx (8-26-71, I think?) They seemed to nail the ending better in those last few versions played. That being said, the best Birdsong ever is 3-7-81.

Ha! We actually had a huge debate about this, and a large number of folks voted, and I the consensus was these TWO H2H are it...hmmm, does it prove your point if I want TWO definitive versions? Crap.

I like 4-28-71 but that was the first HQ version I'd heard.
